Our client, an employee-owned, Canadian company that provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors, is seeking a Lead Transportation Engineer to join their team.

Opportunity:

The ideal candidate will have over 10+ years of Ontario experience and will be expected to lead transportation projects, drive business development, and manage critical projects. You’ll play a crucial role in project management, client relations, and the strategic growth of the transportation division. The position involves working in a dynamic team environment to enhance overall group performance and client service. The Lead Transportation Engineer will be based in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the management of transportation infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget, scope, and schedule requirements.

• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and cultivate relationships with new and existing clients.

• Design Oversight: Provide technical expertise and innovative solutions in the design and execution of transportation infrastructure projects.

• Team Leadership: Mentor and manage project teams, coordinating efforts between engineers, clients, contractors, and subconsultants.

• Client Relations: Maintain and enhance client relationships through excellent service, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the transportation engineering division.

 

Job Requirements:

• Education: Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.

• Professional Status: Registered or approaching registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO.

• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation infrastructure design and project management in Ontario.

• Business Development Skills: Proven ability to develop business, manage client relationships, and secure new projects.

• Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven track record of managing teams and projects.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in transportation engineering principles and practices, with experience in preparing detailed designs and managing projects.

• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including OneNote and SharePoint. Experience with transportation design software is an asset.

• Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada.
