Senior Structural Engineer (Heavy Civil)

Company Overview:

Our client is a rapidly growing, independently owned heavy civil and transportation infrastructure engineering design firm with offices in Ontario and the Maritimes. Renowned for their involvement in technically challenging and high-profile projects, they are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Hamilton.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, design, and execution of projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.

  • Provide expert guidance on bridge design, marine structures, and other construction engineering projects.

  • Conduct preliminary design analysis and selection for various structures including bridges, marine structures, and retaining walls.

  • Engage in construction and erection engineering for heavy civil projects.

  • Prepare and review designs, drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.

  • Conduct site visits, attend project meetings, and support marketing efforts.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional development.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering.

  • P.Eng, Registered or eligible for registration with PEO

  • Strong technical background in structural engineering.

  • Familiarity with design standards and structural analysis tools/software (S-Frame, Midas.)

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.

  • Fluency in French is a plus.

 

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary: $115,000 to $150,000+ based on experience.

  • Annual bonus.
